The Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk held a meeting in Washington with US Deputy Secretary of State Anthony Blinkenom. The sides discussed issues related to decentralization in Ukraine. “Anthony Blinken said that he highly appreciates and welcomes the extraordinary efforts of the Ukrainian government, which demonstrates a strong commitment to reform, and today has reached tangible results,” – said the Government portal of Ukraine. During the meeting the sides also discussed international efforts in support of the country.
Yatsenyuk also held talks with US Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew. The meeting discussed the additional granting Ukraine credit guarantee of $ 1 billion.
Earlier “Kommersant” reported that US President Barack Obama is not going to give orders to send Ukrainian government offensive weapons. Ukraine needs a defensive weapon to protect European borders, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
