The European Union may extend the program to provide loans to Greece for another six months. Program term ends in late February. This was stated by Deputy Head of the European Commission in Brussels, Valdis Dombrovskis, reports TASS .
«According to the European Commission, the most realistic way forward – is the extension of the program for another couple of months or six months that give more time for negotiations, “- he said.
Initially, the program EU financial assistance to Athens was to be completed at the end of last year, but it was extended until February 28, the International Monetary Fund intends to provide loans to Greece in March 2016.
Earlier, Bloomberg, citing sources said , if before 25 February Greece does not negotiate with the creditors, the country will face a lack of funds.
