EC proposes Russia and Ukraine to discuss gas issue in Brussels in mid-April – Kommersant

The European Commission (EC) proposes Ukraine and Russia hold the next meeting on gas in Brussels in mid-April, according to “Naftogaz Ukraine “with reference to a letter from the representative of the European Commission.

« March 27 Ukrainian side received from the Vice-President of the European Commission Mr. Shevchovicha letter in which he speaks of his proposal to the Russian side left in the current action pricing mechanism for Russian gas supplied by Gazprom for Ukrainian consumers. Vice President Shevchovich also said the Ukrainian and Russian sides of the readiness of the European Commission to hold a trilateral meeting in Brussels in mid-April, “- said in a statement. It is noted that “Naftogaz” for its part is ready to participate in such a meeting.

Earlier it was reported that “Naftogaz Ukraine” has sent a letter to “Gazprom” with a proposal to extend the “winter package “before the end of next autumn-winter period. Russia, Ukraine and the EU on the night of October 31, agreed a scheme whereby Kiev got a chance to buy from “Gazprom” gas this winter. Workaround is valid until the end of March 2015.
