MOSCOW, February 10. Russia refuses to extradite former Ukraine Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. On this, as reports “Interfax”, said Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika.
“We will respond to the request of our colleagues from the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. The answer is no, because seeing in the prosecution of these individuals political motives” – Chaika stressed.
“In their actions, we will also proceed from our national legislation and international law,” – he added.
He said that the Russian legislation and international legal instruments prescribe not to extradite persons to foreign countries, the prosecution of which is political in nature.
