Prices of medicines in Russia in January 2015 rose by 15%, First Deputy Health Minister Igor Ghahramanyan. At the end of January, “Vedomosti” referring to analysts’ estimates DSM Group wrote that in 2014 the prices of medicines in pharmacies Russian increased by 12.7% (inflation for the year was 11.4%), and in recent months the increase was 1.5 to 20%. The growth of 12.7% was the highest since the input price regulation on the part of drugstores in 2010, the newspaper notes. Before this record was recorded during the crisis of 2008 – by 14% (2008) and 16.2% (2009).

As the main reasons for this rise in prices, analysts called the sharp drop in the ruble.

The question of price regulation, according to him, was discussed with professional associations and pharmaceutical manufacturers, and by the regional authorities and the federal executive bodies. He assured that the Ministry of Health developed and submitted to the government a set of measures “to prevent the negative impact of changes in the economy on the availability of drugs.” One such measure he VED bulk updating the list, as well as monitoring changes in the prices of regulated and unregulated segments. Another measure will be talks with manufacturers and suppliers to agree on the size of the possible price indexation.
