TOKYO, January 14 – RIA Novosti, Xenia Naka. The Government of Japan, at its meeting on Wednesday approved a draft budget for 2015 fiscal year (April 1, 2015 – March 31, 2016), which provides the highest level of military spending – 4.98 trillion yen (42.2 billion dollars).
In comparison with the current year, defense spending will increase by 100 billion yen ($ 847 million) due to the strengthening of border surveillance territories. Anxiety Japan is traditionally the DPRK’s nuclear program, as well as the growth of China’s presence in the East China Sea, in particular, due to the worsening in the last two years of a territorial dispute between the two countries over the Senkaku (Diaoyu Chinese name).
Approved at the meeting of the government draft budget of Japan will be the largest in the country’s history – 96.3 trillion yen (about 816.4 billion dollars). In the future the financial year, the government expects to close the program to begin the task of improvement of the financial system. In particular, it is planned to reduce the cost of subsidies to the regions, while the estimated growth in tax revenues, which reached a maximum in the last seven years, the size – 54.53 trillion yen (462 billion dollars).
The financing of public and socially important programs planned at the level of the year – 5.97 trillion yen (50.59 billion dollars). Interest on government securities will be allocated 23.45 trillion yen (198.7 billion dollars). The budget deficit will be covered, as in previous years, through the issuance of government securities, however, are expected to be able to reduce the emission of government securities in the new fiscal year to a level of 36.86 trillion yen – 312.3 billion (in current year edition government bonds amounted to 41.25 trillion yen – 349.57 billion).
The draft budget will be submitted to Parliament. As expected, due to the fact that the majority of seats in both houses belong to the ruling coalition, the budget is adopted, despite the opposition of the opposition.
