Sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (LCV) in Russia in 2014 decreased by 10.3% compared with 2013, to 2.49 million vehicles, said the head of the Automobile Manufacturers Committee of the Association of European Businesses (AEB) Joerg Schreiber at the final conference AEB, the correspondent Autonews.ru.
Earlier Schreiber predicted that in 2014 in Russia will be sold approximately 2.45 million cars, which is 12% less than in 2013.
The excess over the forecast results due to increased sales, provoked by the devaluation of the ruble. Thus, in November 2014 the Russians bought about 230 thousand cars – only 2.6 thousand. Less than in November 2013.

In 2015, sales of passenger cars and LCV in Russia, as predicted by the AEB to decline to 1.89 million, or about 24% .
“We can say that the forecast for 2015 is at the level of 2006,” – said Schreiber, calling one of the main reasons for the decline in sales growth rates on loans, which is why the share of credit auto sales may fall below 20%.
