Japan announced the lifting of sanctions against Iran – REGNUM

Tokyo, January 22, 2016, 05:22 – REGNUM The Government of Japan has decided to lift the sanctions against Iran after the conditions of the agreement on Tehran’s nuclear program. This January 22 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Fumio Kishida , the agency reports Kyodo.

It is expected that with the lifting of sanctions could be signed an investment agreement, agreement on which was reached during the visit of the head of the Japanese foreign minister to Iran last autumn. Banks of the two countries will be able to open branches and to enter into contracts on the currency exchange between financial institutions of the two countries.

Earlier, the Nikkei newspaper reported that the Japanese government has pledged to support the companies that will cooperate with Iran after the lifting of sanctions.

20 July the UN Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution on the Iranian nuclear program, based on the agreements reached. The resolution puts under international control Iran’s nuclear program, and allows the UN Security Council to remove from Iran previously imposed sanctions.

According to the agreement with the “six” Tehran undertakes to not to seek nuclear weapons of any kind and refused uranium enrichment above 3.67% for 15 years.
