The auction house Sotheby’s withdrew from the auction painting by Russian artist Ivan Aivazovsky “Evening in Cairo” at the request of the Russian bureau of Interpol, said TASS .

Earlier it was know , that the Russian Interpol taking measures to remove from the auctions in the UK stolen paintings by Aivazovsky “Evening in Cairo”, which at an estimated cost of $ 2,4-3,1 million was supposed to be one of the top lots of the auction. Russian bureau of Interpol sent a request about this in the British law enforcement.
