CB tied “turbulence ruble” to external factors – RBC

The main source influencing the fluctuation of the ruble in recent years, are external factors. In an interview with TV channel “Russia 24″ said the first deputy chairman of the Central Bank Ksenia Yudaeva.

«Indeed, in recent years the main source of turbulence for the Russian currency market were external factors”, – she said.

Earlier, the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina said that the rapid decline in the key rate is risky because of high inflation expectations.

«A more rapid decline in interest rates, which we sometimes call, in our opinion, carries risks as inflation expectations is high. Too rapid decline in interest rates in these conditions can lead to a new wave of destabilization in the foreign exchange market and a surge in inflation, “- she pointed out.
