The dollar fell to the ETC to 49.22 rubles – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, May 18 – RIA Novosti / Prime. The average rate of dollar to ruble settlements “tomorrow” on a single trading session (UTS), the MICEX, in which the Central Bank set the official exchange rate at 11.30 MSK fell Monday at 79.40 kopecks and amounted to 49.2175 rubles, according to data exchange.

On Friday, the weighted average dollar exchange rate at that time amounted to 50.0115 rubles to the dollar.

What is a currency basket

This is a conditional measure, benchmark the Bank of Russia used during the exchange rate policy. Currency basket determines the ratio of the ruble against the two currencies – the US dollar and the euro, taken in a certain proportion. The currency basket was first introduced on 1 February 2005 until this moment the ruble rely solely on the US dollar. The initial ratio was determined: 0.1 – EUR 0.9 – dollars. Subsequently, the amount of euro in the basket gradually increased, and the dollar – is reduced. As a result, February 8, 2007 the indicator value received – 0.45 euros and 0.55 dollars.
