China proposes to launch high-speed railway to Vladivostok – RIA Novosti

VLADIVOSTOK, May 21 – RIA Novosti. Representatives of Jilin Province (China) proposed Primorye to build high-speed railway to Vladivostok, which will be the first cross-border high-speed backbone between Russia and China, according to the regional administration.

Primorsky Territory Governor Vladimir Miklushevsky met with the first secretary of CPC Committee of Jilin Province of China Bayin Chaolu. The delegate stressed that the Chinese side attaches great importance to the development of transport corridors.

“We have an idea to build a high-speed railway to Vladivostok. By August, we have already launched a plot to Hunchun. If together we will renew it, it will be the first cross-border high-speed backbone between Russia and China,” – said the representative of the province.

The head of Primorye interested in this project and said that he intends to hold talks with the head of JSC “Russian Railways” Vladimir Yakunin. To fix their intentions on cooperation outlined in the course of the dialogue, the two sides signed a protocol of negotiation.
