Russia’s Finance Ministry has developed a draft law, according to which the Bank will be obliged to make backup copies of customer databases, the newspaper «News» , with reference to a copy of the document.
In particular, the bill It aims to reduce the risk of destruction by credit institutions long before revocation of the license of electronic databases. In particular, the draft law extends the list of cases where the Central Bank has the right to back up databases of customers. At the moment, the regulator can only do this if there are substantial grounds for revocation of a license. These actions are considered by banks as a signal for the destruction of information.
The bill proposes to allow the Central Bank to request the bank back up electronic databases in the event of the introduction to the bank restrictions on some transactions.
