Belousov: Inflation in 2014 could reach 10 percent – Russian newspaper

Inflation in Russia in 2014 may reach 10 percent. This was stated by presidential aide Andrei Belousov. He added that the issue of additional indexation monopolies after inflation in the government did not come up, RIA Novosti reported.

The growth of tariffs for natural monopolies in 2014 decided not to increase.

After enduring this time out, in the future the authorities planned to index inflation rates of the previous year. Earlier, the Economic Development Ministry raised its forecast for growth rates of natural monopolies in 2015 to 7.5 percent.

Belousov recalled that the President in his message raised the question of reducing the operating costs of companies. “Not everyone is now infrastructure companies, including Russian Railways until fulfill this requirement. Therefore, there is room to further reduce costs,” – he added.

According to the latest data from Rosstat, inflation in Russia from 9 to 15 December accelerated to 0.4 percent. This is the maximum weekly rise in prices in 2014. Prior to that, the price for the month increased by 0.3 percent. Since the beginning of the year, inflation rose by 9.4 percent.
