Asus has suspended deliveries of its products to Russia – NEWSru.com

The Taiwanese company Asus has suspended deliveries of its devices in Russia in connection with jumps of the ruble against the dollar. According to “Kommersant” , shipments of computers and gadgets will resume only after the stabilization of the national currency.

According to the Taiwanese business newspaper Taipei Times Asus CFO David Chang , supplies of goods were interrupted two weeks ago due to the depreciation of the ruble against the dollar. Chang said that the shipment will be resumed only when the exchange rate is locked. In the Russian office Asus refused to provide additional comments.

Chang also said that Russia accounts for 5.6% of total revenue Asus. Thus, in 2013 the company has earned the country about $ 725 million with a total revenue of 14.5 billion. In IV quarter 2014 Asus is preparing to record a loss, due to the difference in exchange rates, but it is as representative said the company will not only due to the devaluation of the ruble.

According to IDC, in the III quarter of 2014 the company ranked third place in terms of PC shipments in Russia. In total Asus shipped more than 332 million devices, and took 14.5% of the market. In the tablet market over the same period Asus in fourth place, shipped 213.3 thousand gadgets and share with 9% of the market.

Note that the last time most of the major manufacturers of smart phones and other electronics has announced a price increase on the Russian market.
