Kudrin predicts the return of Russia to the G8 – Economy News

This Kudrin said at a panel discussion The Outlook for Russia in the framework of the economic forum in Davos, Switzerland. The discussion, which was moderated by the head of the consulting firm Eurasia Group Ian Bremmer, was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev, the chairman of “Vnesheconombank” Vladimir Dmitriyev, chief editor of RBC Elizabeth Ossetian and chairman of the annual Munich International Security Conference, Wolfgang Ischinger.

“Russia has never refused to participate in the life of the world community, the development of a market economy, democracy and integration into the world economy. Russia this does not give up. We now have a political and geopolitical crisis, which will take place. It does not meet peers “Cold War” era of the Soviet Union.

I believe that Russia, after some negotiation or new dialogue will return all global formats including G8. Not because it is an economic superpower, but because it is It has a certain set of qualities, including geopolitical, military values, which were originally the basis for the inclusion of Russia in the “eight”.

Russia should be in G8, so that we can work together to solve the world’s problems. I am sure that the pressure of sanctions against Russia will gradually decline at the end of this year – early next. I think the Minsk Agreement will be carried out and thus sanctions the conflict will eventually be exhausted.

At the same time, in my opinion, the West and Russia should learn from what is happening. The crisis in relations occurred by chance. It is caused by the fact that at some point we do not take into account each other’s interests. I hope that the forthcoming conference in Munich, as well as in various other formats and meetings, including between leaders of our two countries, the parties will be able to find a common language. Ultimately, the current crisis will be resolved, I am absolutely convinced of that “.
