In response to the question of the correspondent of “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” about the possible absence of the market due to the bacon fat and antisanktsy against Ukraine, Tkachev said that Kiev actually delivers no fat and bacon, and fresh-frozen pork, which share in total supply volume is about 4%. According to him, this amount can replace both domestic producers and other countries. We are talking about Brazil, China and Chile.
In this Tkachev said that the food embargo in Ukraine will take effect only in the case of the Kiev authorities, the economic part of the Association Agreement with the European Union.
Commenting on the situation with supplies of fish from Iceland, in respect of which were also introduced antisanktsii, Tkachev said that the flow can be redirected through the Faroe Islands, for which no effect prodembargo. In addition, herring and mackerel should be delivered to the Russian Far East. As for Atlantic salmon, then Iceland in its supply can replace Chile.
«Speaking about the situation in general, I want to remind you that last year, after the introduction of response also raised the question: can we replace imports from EU countries and the United States. And in the autumn of 2014 in just a few months managed to restructure import from one country to the other, to provide an uninterrupted supply from Latin America and Asia “, – explained the Minister.
Last week, Russia has expanded antisanktsii (food embargo) on Albania, Montenegro, Iceland, Liechtenstein and conditional on Ukraine. This is explained by the fact that the above-mentioned countries joined the sanctions against the Crimea and Sevastopol.
