Rosstat did not see a rise in prices the third consecutive week – RBC

During the first full week of August (from 4 th to 10 th day), consumer prices in Russia have not changed, it should be from the message of Rosstat. Thus, according to the statistical agency, inflation in Russia remains zero for three weeks in a row: the last time consumer price index, Rosstat recorded in the third week of July 2015 (from 14 to 20 July).

Since the beginning 2015, consumer prices in Russia, according to Rosstat, rose by 9,4%.

Hold weekly inflation at zero stability helped tariffs for public utilities and public transport. Moreover, remained unchanged, according to the report of Rosstat, the price of pork, chicken, sausages, flour, cheese, butter and diesel fuel.

On some products prices over the past week still grown. For example, sugar went up just 2.1%, sunflower oil – by 0.3%, eggs – by 0.2%, beef, bread and milk – by 0.1%. In addition, a 0.3% increased retail gasoline prices.

However, the increase in prices has been offset by the seasonal decline in fruit and vegetable prices (an average of 3%), as well as frozen fish, cheese, cooked sausage and pasta (in 0,1-0,2%).

At the beginning of July 2015 the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Alexei Ulyukayev predicted that observed in the sector of food deflation will soon spread to other areas.

«We expect that in the near future deflationary influence spread from the sphere to the sphere of non-food goods and services,” – said Ulyukayev.

However, in July 2015, consumer prices in Russia increased in comparison with the previous month by 0.8%, should be the message of Rosstat. July jump in prices was four times the growth in prices recorded in June (0.2%) and twice the rate of their growth in May (0.4%) this year.
