Ukraine will buy Russian gas by the World Bank – Rosbalt.RU

Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman did not rule out that his country could buy gas from Russian “Gazprom».

Prime Minister said that the Ukrainian government will take “political decision” if “Gazprom” will make “the right offer”, reports Reuters. The Prime Minister said that Kiev may soon expect to receive a credit of $ 500 million from the World Bank, which will be spent on the purchase of gas. Funds will be provided under certain conditions, including improving the efficiency of “Naftogaz” Ukrainian state company management.

The first amount of $ 500 million was used “Naftogaz” for purchases of gas from “Gazprom” (about two billion cubic meters) in the framework of the winter package, initialed by the Russian Federation, Ukraine and the EC. At the end of October 2015 “Naftogaz” and EBRD signed an agreement on a loan of $ 300 million for the purchase of gas by Ukraine.

At the same time Groisman said that Ukraine still hopes to do without Russian gas.
