The poverty rate in Russia fell – TVNZ

The number of people with incomes below the subsistence minimum in the first quarter of 2016 amounted to 22.7 million people. These indicate that one in six citizens Russian is below the poverty line.

The share of poor Russians constituted 15.7% of the total population, which is 0 , 2% less than in the previous year. According to Rosstat, the number of poor people in 2016 decreased by 200 thousand people.

Earlier, it signed a decree on increasing the minimum subsistence level. The amount for the able-bodied population was 10,524 rubles, for pensioners – 8025 rubles, for children – 9677 rubles
