Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the destruction of Russia and imported into embargoed products. According to the decree, the measures will take effect from 6 August. The document was published on the Kremlin website.

The government instructed to set the order of the destruction of such goods. The decree states that its provisions do not apply to goods imported by individuals for personal use.

July 24 Minister of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev proposed to destroy imported bypassing the embargo and products found on the border and not returned to the sender.

«I take this opportunity to ask you and the Russian government to do everything that we can all consignments of products that enter illegally through the border of the Russian Federation, it was destroyed there on the spot” – then I turned Tkachev Russian President. The minister explained that the regulations illegal goods must not only pass through the border and sent back. Putin agreed with this idea and instructed her lawyers to work.

About a year ago, August 7, 2014, the Russian government has published a list of products that are prohibited from being imported into Russia from the United States, the European Union Canada, Australia and Norway. Measures have been taken as a response to the imposition of sanctions by the West because of the situation in Ukraine.

The black list includes: cattle meat, pork, poultry, meat salted, dried or smoked fish and crustaceans, molluscs. Restrictions also touched upon the milk and milk products, cheese, cottage cheese, based on vegetable fats, sausages and similar products of meat, vegetables, roots, fruits and nuts.

Later, the list of banned products changed: in particular, from under the embargo was first released, and then returned to his cheese. In addition, a ban on the import of hit and cheese products.

In June this year the ban was extended for a year, until August 2016.
