Putin signed a decree on accession to the FAS FTS – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, July 21 – RIA Novosti / Prime. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the accession of the Federal Tariff Service (FTS) to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS), the press service of the president.

“In order to improve governance and control in the antitrust and tariff regulation, optimizing the structure of the federal bodies of executive decree: to abolish the Federal Tariff Service, to transfer the functions of the abolished Federal Tariff Service of the Federal Antimonopoly Service,” – said in a message.

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev last week offered to pour FTS Federal Antimonopoly Service, leaving the head of the latest Igor Artemyev. President of the Russian Federation agreed with this initiative.

Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Tsarikovsky then noted that the accession to the FTS, FAS may take several months. He also did not rule out that at the confluence of FAS FTS will be reduced the number of employees of these departments.

Artemyev, who is now 53 years old, headed by the Federal Antimonopoly Service since 2004. Prior to that, was elected deputy of the State Duma, he held the post of first vice-governor of St. Petersburg. Abolishes the Federal Tariff Service Sergei Novikov headed.
