KIEV, July 1 – RIA Novosti. Director of Business Development” Naftogaz Ukraine “Yuri Vitrenko believes that Ukraine will have time until winter upload necessary volumes of gas into underground storage (UGS); while the question of the volume of the injection remains open.
“We’ll make it,” – wrote Vitrenko on your page to Facebook, answering questions from users, whether Kiev will have time to pump gas. According to him, if the pumping of 50-60 million cubic meters per day, for the winter season in Ukraine will have time to accumulate the necessary volume of gas storage facilities.
“And the question remains open on the necessary injection volumes,” – said Vitrenko.
After the fruitless talks in Vienna Ukraine has suspended the purchase of gas from the Russian Federation to the harmonization of the conditions of its supply and now receives gas only reversal from Europe.
Ukraine, Russia and the European Commission for tripartite talks in Vienna Tuesday did not solve the main issue, which is going for – financial assistance to Ukraine from the European Commission for the purchase of gas and its injection into underground storage facilities for the coming winter. Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak reported that the EC in the negotiations said the possibility to give Ukraine up to $ 3 billion of financial assistance. However, judging by the statements of Novak, the EC and Russia failed to get guarantees from the Ukrainian side, targeted use of these funds.
The sides remain divided and estimates the required volume of gas, which should be in Ukraine’s underground gas storage for the winter. The Russian side insists that it is not less than 19 billion cubic meters, while the harsh winter – and 20-21 billion cubic meters. Ministry of Energy of Ukraine with this still does not agree, saying that the last heating season Ukraine had the 16.6 billion cubic meters.
