A group of independent experts tried to predict the results. The chances of participants, tasks, were approximately equal. The experts suggested: Volunteers configured optimistic cope with the job much better. However, this did not happen.
In the second experiment, the volunteers solved the puzzle “Where’s Wally?”. Experts calculated that optimistic group cope with it 33% better. Volunteers, tune into the positive, do not give 20% longer. Despite this, their chances of success were higher by only 5%. After each task, participants rated how well they coped.
People who took part in the third experiment, the questionnaire showed 99 participants, performs tasks, and asked to suggest how well they coped. Each questionnaire had information about the competence, efficiency and level of optimism volunteers. Scientists noticed that people considered the competence and efficiency of approximately equivalent, but optimism is greatly overrated.
