Moody’s assign stop Russian national scale ratings – Rosbalt.RU

International rating agency Moody’s has decided to terminate the assignment of Russian national scale ratings. This is stated in the message company.

“The decision was made in light of legislative changes and other potential limitations that affect the risk ratings on the national scale in Russia”, – said in a statement

.

Recall, according to the national scale ratings are opinions of the relative creditworthiness of issuers and financial obligations in a particular country.

The decision to revoke the national scale ratings will not affect the assignment of Moody’s ratings on a global scale, which are globally comparable estimates of the relative creditworthiness of issuers and financial liabilities.

Under the new law of the Russian Federation on the rating agencies, “the big three» – Fitch, Moody’s and S & amp; P – since the middle of 2017 will be able to assign to Russia national scale ratings on only when open in the country subsidiaries and agree not to withdraw the assigned ratings under pressure from foreign States.

In 2014, the EU and the US imposed sanctions against Russia after the annexation of Crimea, after which international agencies have withdrawn the ratings of some companies and banks.
