Iraqi Prime Minister announced plans to increase oil production with the participation of Lukoil – Sight

Iraqi Prime Minister Haydar al-Abadi has ordered his agency to increase oil production with the participation of the Russian company “Lukoil».

«The Prime Minister sent to the oil ministry directive to start negotiations with “Lukoil” in order to increase oil production and to increase investment in associated gas, “- said in a statement following the last meeting on Sunday with al-Abadi, head of the Russian company Vagit Alekperov. The Prime Minister also pointed to “the need to resolve all issues relating to” Lukoil “, and come to an agreement that would facilitate the flow of investments in the oil sector”, reports TASS.

Alekperov, for its part, presented a plan for the West Qurna and confirmed that the company “aims to increase production to 1.2 million barrels per day, in particular by non-burning of associated gas.”

At the end of January, the vice-president of “Lukoil” Leonid Fedun said the company is preparing to reduce the amount of production that is associated with the general trend to reduce the level of production in Iraq. He explained that this reduction will be carried out in proportion to the other companies operating in Iraq.
