Russia is ready to discuss with China the possibility to transfer fresh water from the Altai region in Xinjiang of China, who is suffering from drought. The announcement was made head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Alexander Tkachev during a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Han Changfu.
The Minister proposed to instruct the experts of the two countries to exchange specific materials, to consult and, if interested, go to the specific agreements. According to him, in the near future the Russian Federation to discuss the matter with Kazakhstan.
As explained in the Ministry of Agriculture, is now in operation Gilevskogo Kulundinskoye reservoir and the main canal in Russia after the flood dumped 70 million cubic meters of water annually, reports TASS.
The department Tkachev said that this water could be to throw in the Xinjiang Uygur region through the Pavlodar region of Kazakhstan, the border which runs 60 kilometers from the Altai Territory.
