US seen "positive steps" Russia against Ukraine – RBC

US Secretary of State John Kerry said that Russia in recent days has taken positive steps regarding the situation in Ukraine. This statement was made head of the US diplomacy in London.

Last week, the self-proclaimed authorities Donetsk People’s Republic announced the beginning of removal of heavy artillery from the line of contact between Ukrainian security services and militias.

On the eve of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has confirmed that the militia started withdrawal of heavy weapons. The head of the US State Department commented on the situation with the collapse of the Russian ruble. According to Kerry, the exchange rate does not decline due to sanctions, and under the influence of “many factors”, among which the fall in oil prices.

The Secretary of State stressed that the imposed sanctions against Russia were not intended to cause harm to the Russian people, and were designed to influence the Russian leadership.
