Kiev’s debt to Moscow prevents the IMF to allocate the next tranche to Ukraine – Вести.Ru

the IMF has urged Ukraine and Russia in the near future to resolve the issue on the debt of Kiev, as it is linked to the decision on allocation of the next tranche of financial aid, told reporters the head of the recent IMF mission in Kiev Ron van Ore, RIA Novosti reported.

meanwhile, the head of the national Bank of Ukraine Valeria Gontareva reported that waiting for receipt of the fourth tranche of the IMF loan in January-February.

the IMF Mission worked in Kyiv from 3 to 17 November. After its completion, the IMF has urged Ukraine to adopt the joint Fund budget for 2017 and to continue implementing reforms. In particular, the results of the work of the mission depended on getting Kiev the fourth tranche of financial assistance in the amount of $ 1.3 billion until the end of 2016.

As you know, four-year bailout program of the IMF involves the allocation of Ukraine 17.5 billion dollars. The first tranche of 5 billion dollars was remitted in March 2015, in August of the same year the second tranche of 1.7 billion. September 1 Fund transferred to Ukraine the third tranche of a billion dollars.

On non-market terms Russia has deployed in favor of two-year Ukrainian Eurobonds for $ 3 billion in late 2013. Kiev authorities regularly served duty for one and a half years, but in December last year imposed a moratorium on the payment of the last coupon and the body’s debt.

meanwhile, in February 2016, Russia has filed a lawsuit in London’s High court for the recovery of Ukraine’s $ 3 billion debt and unpaid interest for $ 75 million. The high court in London the case will be considered on 17-20 January 2017.
