According to investigators, Ulyukayev extorted from Rosneft $ 2 million (over 130 million rubles). in exchange for a positive conclusion of Ministry of economic development in respect of the acquisition by the company of 50.08% of shares of “Bashneft” in the state. According to TFR, the speaker also made threats to hinder the activities of the company using his authority. Itself the speaker pleaded not guilty. His lawyer Timofei Gridnev earlier claims that the speaker considers the incident as a provocation.

on the Evening of 15 November the President of Russia Vladimir Putin has signed the decree about the dismissal of the speaker from the post of Minister of economic development in connection with loss of trust. His place in the Ministry was occupied by the former Deputy Minister of Finance Maxim Oreshkin.
