Russia intends to expand economic cooperation with Greece and is developing measures that will help to restore its economy. This was stated by Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak.
«In this regard, we are exploring the possibility of direct deliveries of energy raw materials to the Greek state from the start in the nearest future”, – quotes the Minister Tass.
Novak also explained that the Ministry of Energy is considering appropriate plans and expects “to reach an agreement within a few weeks».
Earlier, at a press conference at the SCO summit in Ufa President Vladimir Putin said that Russia is looking “very carefully and with some concern “at the situation in Greece. According to him, Russia has the opportunity to support their partners and Russia and Greece, he said, have a special relationship of spiritual kinship.
At the same time, Putin said that the Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras did not apply to it with a request for financial assistance in the course of repeated contacts, including during a telephone conversation after the referendum on the proposals of creditors.
Earlier on Sunday, the head of the European Council, Donald Tusk announced the cancellation of the EU summit on Greece, which was start at 11:00. At the same time, Tusk said that the meeting postponed for an hour the leaders of the eurozone. In his microblog Tusk pointed out that the negotiations for Greece’s eurozone will continue as long as there will not be taken any decision.
The German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung described with reference to the documents that the German Ministry of Finance as one option to resolve the crisis considering the possibility of a Greek exit from the euro zone for five years, and its duty in this case will be restructured.
The Greek Government has rejected a proposal by the creditors out of the crisis and put the issue to a referendum. Majority of votes on July 5 the Greeks abandoned his proposed reforms and austerity measures. On Friday night, July 10, the head of the Greek government submitted to Brussels a new plan, which provides for the reduction of costs and a change in the tax law.
German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble called the proposals inadequate. In response, supporters Tsipras called the position of Berlin attempt to humiliate Greece and all the Greek people.
