Russian kontrsanktsii affected agricultural production, which exports from the EU to Russia in 2013 amounted to 5.25 billion euros! At the same time, the Polish Ministry of Agriculture estimates that only the Polish economy will lose in the Russian embargo of about 500 million euros. On the other hand, the EU budget allocated for the Common Agricultural Policy, which allows to respond to such crises in the market is only 420 million euros.
In this case, the main purpose of compensatory action of the European bureaucracy is to counter a possible sharp decline in prices on the European market. Therefore, compensation can only count that peasant who “eliminate” their products from the market. This “removal” means a donation of their goods, such as schools or charities, or “biodegradation” – simply put, plowing fields or composting fruit. In the first case, the producers will get a higher amount of compensation, but no matter how they get rid of their crop compensation rates will be significantly lower than the market price.
Embargo WTO ?
