MOSCOW, Jan 8 – PRIME. Crimea is not experiencing serious power shortages due to the cold, told RIA Novosti member of the energy Committee of the state Duma, the former first Vice-Premier of the Crimean government Mikhail Sheremet.

In the Crimea on 7-8 January was declared a storm warning in connection with difficult weather conditions: rain, turning into heavy wet snow, strong ice, the accumulation of wet snow, a Blizzard. Strong North-West wind of 20-25 m/s.

“As such there is absolutely no energy shortage. It can occur only in certain regions due to bad weather conditions: snow, gust wires. All issues resolved quickly and in a matter of hours around the clock,” – said RIA Novosti Sheremet.

According to him, a schedule of rolling blackouts in the Republic were not applied. The power supply of the Peninsula was not threatened.
