Ministry of Russia intends to monitor the border with the Donetsk region of Ukraine in connection with a potential environmental threat because of the shelling Ukrainian army Gorlovka and plant “Styrene”. “Due to the potential threat to environmental safety in Gorlovka (Donetsk region), the consequences of which may have a cross-border nature, on adjacent sections of the Russian Federation, five times a day take samples of air, water and soil to detect an emergency situation in ecological character” – quotes “Interfax” news service department. According to the instructions of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation Sergey Donskoy, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Minister Rinat Gizatulin sent a formal request to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine. According to Mr. Gizatulina, the ministry does not exclude that in the event of an environmental disaster could be threatened territory of neighboring states of the European Union and the Russian Federation.
