Russia may impose restrictions on the import of industrial products, however, this will only happen in the event that will be tightened sanctions against it. About this newspaper “Vedomosti” told two federal officials.
The publication notes that a few days after the entry of the United States and the EU sectoral sanctions, the Russian government has sent a report to the President with a broad list of possible responses. “It means that additional sanctions on the part of Russia are possible only if the EU and the United States toughened its sanctions against us” – quoted by “Vedomosti” of one of its sources.
However, another interviewee media said that the government has no presidential orders to prepare the relevant documents on the introduction of restrictive measures. However, according to him, one of the possible sanctions may be complete or nearly complete ban imports of cars from countries hostile to Russia. At the same time, the article says, the demand can be provided by domestic production. We are talking about companies that operate in the industrial assembly.
