The Ministry of Economy and Energy of Bulgaria has suspended work on the implementation of the project “South Stream” as long as it will not be brought into line with European legislation, reported the Ministry of Economy and Energy.
According to the official report, posted on the website of the department, Economy and Energy Minister Vasil SHTON in a letter dated August 11, sent to the address of the “Bulgarian Energy Holding”, ordered to suspend all actions to implement the project, including the increase of share capital local project company “South Stream Bulgaria” and the conclusion of agreements on the “South Stream”, “Interfax”. Construction of the Bulgarian section will begin only after receiving the advance payment by the contractor, which can be sent only if the signatures of both the executive directors of the project company.
In turn, the company “South Stream Bulgaria” stated that “as prescribed by the European Commission suspended the registration of orders and contracts for the construction of the pipeline “South Stream” on the territory of the republic. ” “Currently, the company carries out preparatory work for the implementation of the project in compliance with national and European legislation. During the construction of the gas pipeline” South Stream Bulgaria “adheres to the principle of transparency and accountability in order to comply with the draft regulations of the European Union,” – said in a statement.
