Putin has ruled  the former head of the Russian drug police from  the Security Council

Moscow on May 8. Special decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin ruled out the Russian security Council former head of defunct federal Office for the Suppression of unlawful drug Viktor Ivanov. Ivanov’s Office was abolished at the beginning of April, after which he received a new post in the Interior Ministry.

The decree amending the composition of the Security Council of the Russian Federation was signed by Putin, May 7, 2016. The corresponding document indicating the related articles of the Russian legislation published on the official portal of legal information.

Let’s remind, the Federal Service for Drug Control was abolished in the course of a large-scale police reform, and its functions were transferred to the Russian Interior Ministry . After Viktor Ivanov lost his ministry, it was assumed that he may become the first deputy Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, but this information is not confirmed.

Before becoming head of Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation Viktor Ivanov worked as Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation during the second presidential term of Vladimir Putin. At the same time he served as chairman of the boards of directors “Aeroflot” and “Almaz-Antey».
