Court for the Northern District of California State on Thursday fined the Russian subsidiary of the well-known American computer company Hewlett-Packard 58.7 million for the Organisation bribery Russian officials in order to obtain a lucrative contract, according to a statement Department of Justice .

Sentencing is part of a a big agreement , achieved with Hewlett-Packard in April 2014. Then the company has agreed to pay a total of 108 million dollars in compensation for bribing officials in Russia, Mexico and Poland.

The General Counsel John Schultz, HP said in court on Thursday, when an agreement was reached in April, have committed wrongful acts of employees were laid off.

 According to the investigation, to bribe officials spent several million dollars in Russia, more than one million dollars in Mexico and $ 600 thousand in Poland. Established that foreign officials, in addition to cash bribes, the company also organized travel, entertainment, going to restaurants, excursions, gave expensive gifts.

The investigators found that HP “kickbacks” was trying not only to sign a lucrative contract for the supply of computer equipment of the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office, but was hoping for more then 100-150 million in contracts with other Russian institutions. In Poland, HP made arrangements for the supply of equipment of the national police, in Mexico – the state oil company Pemex.
