KIEV, March 1 – RIA Novosti. gas transit function should be separated from the “Naftogaz Ukraine” to June this year, said vice-president of the European Commission’s energy union Maroš Šefčovič.

“Division of” Naftogaz “and the establishment of an independent operator (Ukrainian – ed.) of the gas transportation system should move forward, and now deadline for separation -. this is the 1st of June this year, it will be a definite signal for investors”, – said Maroš Šefčovič at the energy forum in Kyiv on Tuesday, .

Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the action plan on corporate governance reform “Naftogaz”. In particular, it was one of the requirements of the EBRD to provide $ 300 million to Kiev on gas injection in the winter. The Action Plan provides for reassignment of subsidiaries “Naftogaz” from the Ministry of Energy to the Cabinet.

Head of Strategic Planning and European Integration-BNO Michael Hayriyan Ukraine in January, the Ministry of Energy noted that the Office should maintain control over the gas transportation and storage in the reform of “Naftogaz Ukraine”.
