WARSAW, November 26. Eight shoes belonging to victims of the Holocaust, were stolen from the former concentration camp in Poland. According to police, the incident occurred between 18 and 20 November this year at the memorial complex “Majdanek” near the city of Lublin, reports BBC.
As the representative of the museum, the thieves cut the mesh container, which contained 56,000 shoes owned by former prisoners of the camp. According to him, the installation was designed to show visitors the memorial complex scale of the crimes of the Nazis.
The museum said that the stolen exhibits are of great historical value.
This is not the first theft at the museum: earlier from Majdanek attackers stole the ashes of the victims and cap prisoner. Cap later were found with the help of the FBI, when a thief tried to sell it on the Internet. Stolen in 1989 from the ashes of the crematorium of Majdanek prisoners back and failed.
