Turkey introduced visa requirements for Russian citizens entering the country on official passports, according to the Facebook of the Turkish Embassy in Moscow. The visa regime introduced on Friday, April 15.

Russia has introduced a “mirror response”, reports TASS with reference to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Holders of service passports who are permanently employed in diplomatic missions Russia and consular institutions in Turkey on a regular basis, along with the family members can carry out entry without a visa. Visa-free regime is preserved for Russian citizens holding diplomatic or ordinary passports.

Service passports under Russian law shall be issued, in particular, civil servants, employees of state corporations and the Bank of Russia.

Last month, Ankara announced the visa regime for Russian journalists. The measure was introduced “based on the principles of reciprocity” for media professionals who plan on February 15, journalistic trip to Turkey.
