Rosstat: food prices in Russia grew by 0.4% in March – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, April 5 – RIA Novosti Food inflation in Russia in March in monthly terms was 0.4% in February against a rise in prices by 0.7%. yoy in food prices slowed to 5.2% from 6.4% in February, according to Federal State Statistics Service.

Without the fruit and food products prices rose 0.6% in March. Non-food products increased by 0,8%.

In March, a significant increase in prices was observed on certain types of cereals. So, buckwheat-Unground became more expensive by 3.9%, oatmeal “Hercules” – 3%, peas and beans – by 2.3%. Simultaneously, wheat became cheaper by 0.5%. In the group of fish prices for frozen cleaned fish, various kinds of salted, marinated and smoked fish, canned fish on the rose by 1.9-2.1% in the fish preserves – by 1.5%.

At the same time live and chilled fish became cheaper by 1%. Among other observable types of foodstuffs at 1.6-2.3% more expensive yogurt, ketchup, olive oil, black pepper, peas, chocolate, tea, coffee, fruit juices, carbonated water.

In March, it noted lower prices for most of the observed species of fruit and vegetables. Thus, fresh cucumbers and tomatoes, it was 9.7% and 7.9%, respectively, lemons, onions, cabbage and potatoes fell by 1.4-3.4%. However, on the garlic prices rose by 8.7%, grapes – by 4.8%, carrots, apples, bananas and dried fruits – on 1,4-2%

On 0,1-0. 8% decrease in prices for ground beef, poultry, pork, national cheeses and cheese. In addition, the quick-service coffee companies became less expensive by 0.3%. The cost of a conditional (minimum) set of food per month on average in Russia at the end of March amounted to 3,655 thousand rubles and in comparison with February rose by 0.2%, while since the beginning of the year – by 2,2%
